About me

After finishing grammar school I got my bachelor's degree in Psychology at Charles University. Work wise, I recently finished a season at a recreational facility hosting kid as well as adult groups. I am currently focusing on aromatherapy and preparation for studying master's abroad, which allows me to be flexible with my time.
As per my experience with kids, since I was little I spent my summers at a wonderful kids camp and since I was circa 17yrs old, I also got to babysit for my family members, which was the beginning of picking kids up from daycares and schools and spending afternoons at playgrounds and outdoors. Later on, during my psychology studies, for 2 years I co-lead regular social skill development groups focused on children and adolescents with specific needs (age span 5 to 15yrs). The main topics included emotions, stress mamangement and communication - presented age-appropriately. After that I co-lead hipotherapeutic groups (age span 5 to 16yrs), where we focused on encouraging cooperation, creativity and self-awareness through the contact with horses. And of course, we focused on having fun all together!
During these years I also simultaneously tutored English. Especially focusing on conversation and overcoming the fear of speaking out, as well as helping with homework - whatever was necessary.
My main aim is to be a safe space for the kids and to use my best efforts so that they feel welcome just the way they are.
I enjoy spending time with kids of all ages. I like to accompany preschollers while they explore the world as well as offer a listening ear to teenagers at that time, when everyone is 'lame'.

Na nácviky sociálních dovedností, jež jsem lektorovala, docházely zejména děti na základě doporučení svého psychiatra. Nešlo o terapeutickou péči, nicméně žádalo si to citlivost vůči dané situaci.

Angličtinu ovládám na úrovni rodilého mluvčího, učím se ji od školky a na střední škole jsem strávila půl roku studia v USA. Mohu tedy jak poskytovat doučování, tak pracovat s bilingvní či anglofonní rodinou. Španělštinu mám cca na úrovni A2. Tj. základní konverzace a případně nápomoc s domácími úkoly mladších žáčků :-). /// I am fluent in English as I've been studying it since kindergarten and have spent half a year in the U.S., during my grammar school studies. I can therefore provide guidance/lessons as well as work with bilingual or English speaking families. I also speak Spanish at an approximately A2 level. I.e. basic conversation or providing some help with Spanish homework for example.
